[Summer 2019 - through Watkins College of Art, with guidance from Jake Lee]

I have always been fascinated by the incorporation of text and image by graphic designer/animator So Me in the Kanye West “Good Life” music video from 2007. Many years later, I find that I still reference this video often. The collage-like nature and juxtaposition between the hand-drawn/digital and visual art/pop culture feels foundational to my creative interests. Although a completely different style, the A$AP Rocky x Tyler the Creator “Potato Salad” music video from 2018 utilizes animated text in a similar way. I did a follow-up version to the A$AP Forever print project that I did in Fall 2018- this time using an A$AP Rocky line from Potato Salad.
